What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of text that a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember something about your visit — a preference, a session, or a choice you made — so it does not have to ask again on the next page or the next visit. Related technologies include browser local storage, which works the same way but can hold more information. This policy covers both.
Types of cookies
Cookies are usually grouped into three categories:
- Strictly necessary Required for the site to function at all — for example, remembering whether you accepted or declined cookies, so the banner does not reappear on every page.
- Functional Remember preferences such as language or layout choices. This site does not currently set functional cookies.
- Analytics Measure how visitors use a site. If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics, they will only activate after you accept cookies, and this policy will be updated to name them.
The consent banner
When you first visit the site, a banner at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept or decline cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key "cookieConsent" so the banner does not ask again on every page. If you decline, only strictly necessary storage is used and the banner is dismissed. The site works fully either way — no functionality is locked behind consent.

We do not set third-party advertising cookies, and we do not embed trackers from social media platforms. The Google Maps embed on our contact page is provided by Google and may set its own cookies in accordance with Google's policies when you load that page.
Withdrawing or changing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the site's stored data: in most browsers, open site settings for mexclearinghouse.us and clear cookies and site data, or clear your browser's stored data entirely. The next time you visit, the banner will appear again and you can make a fresh choice. You can also configure your browser to block all cookies; strictly necessary storage may then be unavailable, but this static site will continue to display normally.
